CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Abs & Glutes: This 50 minute workout will tone the entire abdominal and hip area in addition to working the deeper core muscles of the body.  Exercises will be done in various positions including standing, kneeling and lying on the floor.  Medicine balls, Swiss Balls, light hand weights and ankle weights may be used to intensify the exercises

Cardio-Kickboxing: a class that incorporates various punches and kicks into continuous aerobic combinations. Will help improve cardiovascular fitness and coordination.
Ballet Workout: based on a beginner’s ballet class, the focus is on stretching and slow movements. This class will help tone and lengthen the entire body and improve coordination and balance.
Bodysculpting: helps tone and tighten the entire body and improve muscular endurance. Multiple repetitions of basic exercises will be performed for each muscle group. We will be using the step as a weight bench and light handweights.
Circuit Training: A total body conditioning class. Move from station to station, performing each exercise for 30 seconds to 1 minute each. Two to three cycles of 10 to 12 exercises will be completed during the class. Various equipment will be used.
Pilates: A unique exercise system designed to articulate the spine and strengthen the "core" (abdominal and spinal musculature).

Most exercises are done on the floor and some equipment may be used such as balls,bands, rollers and the "Magic Circle". Some of the basic principles of Pilates are Proper breathing, precision of movement,and mental concentration.

Yoga (open class)

A combination of various breathing and relaxation techniques with various poses to stretch and strengthen the entire body. Our instructors will encourage you to move at your own pace,honoring your body's needs and capabilities in each moment. This class also helps to calm the mind and reduce stress.

Qigong and Tai Chi. Explore the ancient Chinese healing arts of Qigong and Tai Chi. Qigong is the mother of all Chinese medicine and health care. Using the four basic pillars of breath, meditation, self massage, and movement/Tai Chi, you will maximize your self healing ability, gain stress mastery, and transform your health and fitness. You will come to understand, access, cultivate, and master qi (life force.) Qi is the essential fuel and power of the universe within you. Tai Chi and Qigong are powerful tools, profound yet simple, that will assist you in fulfilling your goals and maximizing the health of your mind, body, and spirit. With this balance and harmony, anything is possible!
 

AAA Workout: a half hour program designed to tone and firm the Arms, Abs, And hip and buttocks area.  Ankle weights, handweights and elastic resistance will be used.  All levels welcome.

Breathing and Meditation: in this ½ hour class you will receive instruction in yogic Pranayama or breath and energy control, Dharana (concentration techniques), and Dhyana ( Meditation).  Mastering these techniques will help to quiet the mind thus relieving stress and tension in the body and clearing the path for a higher spiritual awareness.
