Sarah Longhi, certified Blue Belt Nia instructor
“I first began taking Nia classes nine years ago to feel the benefits of high impact aerobics…without the impact. With Nia as my primary fitness practice, I lost twenty pounds and gained a deeper understanding of how my body works and how to move efficiently, safely, and powerfully. I learned to execute kicks with precision and power, dance with agility and grace, and improve my posture and alignment. I loved the changes Nia brought into my life so much that I decided to share them with others. Over the past four years I’ve earned both my white and blue belt degrees and have taught Nia classes and creative movement workshops in both Manhattan and Northern New Jersey.
I practice Nia not only to exercise and teach, but also to unleash creativity and balance my body, mind, and spirit. My goal as a teacher is to help students experience movement in ways that meet their fitness and health needs, help them work effectively and expressively with their bodies, and uplift their spirits.”
